Nanoporous anodized aluminium coatings for biomedical applications

Natalia Tsyntsaru, Henrikas Cesiulis

Abstract

In order to produce different types of AAO the anodization of electropolished aluminium samples had been carried out in 2 electrolytic baths. Nanoporous oxides were obtained, and diameter of pores ranged from 16 to 45 nm. The nanohardness measurements revealed that AAO can withstand under normal loads without essential cracking, that is strongly important for further biomedical engineering.
