Abstract

The present investigation was undertaken to evaluate the influence of Cd and GTE on the content of MDA (marker of lipid peroxidation) in mice brain, liver and red blood cells. Experiments were done on outbreed white laboratory mice using intraperitoneal injections of CdCl2 and/or GTE solutions. The exposure time was 6 weeks. Our results showed that Cd increased the content of MDA in mice brain by 30% in comparison with control mice group. Meanwhile, in GTE and Cd + GTE mice groups, the content of MDA was decreased by 12% and 22%, respectively, as compared to control mice group. Also, in our experiments we determined that content of MDA in mice liver was decreased in all treated mice groups (Cd, GTE and Cd + GTE by 22%, 21% an 22%, respectively, in comparison with control mice group), but in red blood cells the content of MDA in all groups was at the control level.
